HELP! 2 pt, 2 Ampeg SVT mysteries/Power Compatibility

Hi! I just purchased a couple old Ampegs: an SVT II (non-pro) and an SVT-300 power amp-these here.

I've played through an SVT-II and loved it but i'm not familiar with either as far as specs go. I can't find much beyond the standard especially with the SVT-300. When I get them the goal is to run 2 2x15 cabs with these both. I'm shopping around for a new Furman to go into the rack and I thought this new P-1800 PF R model might be a good idea since its geared towards amplifiers, headroom etc...I guess my question is-does anyone know if I can use this specific Furman with these two. And if its a "15 Amp" unit, am I going to have some to spare with this or do I need two? Or is that the current it draws from the socket? I've always used a conditioner with all other amps (Mesa 400+, SVT II Pro) but never in addition to another power amp.

Sorry for the long explanation. I tried to do my homework on how the power relates to the specs and what the specs are on these two specifically but i'm coming up with nothing.

I've read through dozens of debates about power conditioners and whether or not they choke out the amps, do anything, are just overglorified power strips, etc etc. Its left me more confused than before!

If anyone can tell me this one will leave me with enough juice to spare for both of these and why/why not you'll be my hero.

Weeellll... On the one hand, it's plausible that a couple of older all-tube amps would benefit from some external noise filtering; and surge protection is a good thing generally; but that particular unit looks like a ripoff to me. It touts a ton of "features" that are essentially meaningless and valueless, but that cost you plenty.

I would look for a power strip rated for 20 amps that offers basic noise filtering and surge suppression, but none of those other BS features, and does not cost so much. Tripplite is a good no-nonsense brand.

power conditioners are by and large a waste of money. the cheapest one does just as good a job as the most expensive one and none of them do any better than common surge strips with noise filtering. i can understand wanting one to tidy up an unwieldy rack, but unless you plan on plugging in more than a couple things into it, i don't see the need. i do just as well with my svt plugged into a common household 6-way surge strip or direct into the wall as a power conditioner.

Thanks for the responses! But...will 15 amps be enough to hold over BOTH Ampegs?

Anyone have a manual for these?

Luckily i'll be able to get that model for ALOT less than listed...I dont mind since it comes with a good warranty. Just don't understand the 15/20 amps thing...

2400 watts @ 240 volts = 10 amp load. So 2 x 300 watt amplifiers should only draw approximately 2.5 amps from 240 volt supply. I don't waste my time with power conditioners, a common surge protected power board with ELCB ( Earth leakage circuit breaker ) is all you need. Protects you and your amp.

You just do not NEED a power conditioner for those amps.......

They are not particularly sensitive to most of what the conditioners 'fix"

The only power conditions that would really bother the amps are ones the Furman really can't fix:
a) prolonged high voltage, which is extremely rare

b) prolonged LOW voltage, which is pretty common.
