I agree. That's why I posted this picture. I'm leaning more toward the 2-15, although there other descrepancies such as the lack of handles on the side of the cabinet. Based on other pictures I found, the 2-15 had three handles on the right side of the cabinet (this would be top side as shown in the OP's pictures). One handle was centered and parallel to the long axis. The other two were perpendicular to the long axis, one at either end. I give up...it's anybody's call.

Help in identifying Cabinet

So, I have located a dude who builds vintage fender cabs unloaded and I found 2 vintage JBL 130s 15 inch... should I pull the trigger and have this built?
If it doesn't work, I will be selling it... I think I can get the entire cab built for about $600 bucks included the speakers.

The D130 is a guitar driver. For bass, I'd hold out for 140 series JBLs. Search for some of JohnK_10 threads. He has one where he compares the various JBL 140 drivers, including sound clips. I think he favors E140 or K140, but can't remember for sure.
OK... interesting... and I appreciate the heads up on the speaker model... this is going to be tough... the bass guitar being used is really a baritone guitar refitted for bass strings and the effect going in is a vintage FUZZ box.
This may have changed my approach. Can't think of anyway to know which model JBLs are in the model. Perhaps I might have to purchase to sets of speakers, try them both and sell the set that doesn't work?

To me that does not look like the deeper bassman 100 4x12 pyramid cabinet. as mentioned it was 17 inches deep.
Looks to me like a 11.5 deep cabinet.
Width wise I think they are about the same.
The Dual Showman or Super Bassman 2x15 was about 45 inches tall
and the 4x12 slightly shorter around 40"
so maybe that will tell, it looks like a taller and less deep 2x15 to me.

JBL D140F or K140
As far as I understand both have the same magnet basket and gauss. One point somewhere in there was a change over to Kapton voicecoils which changed the thermal rating to handle a few more watts. and the E series was when the went from Alnico to Ceramic
plenty of cheaper oxfords or utahs for more speaker fuzz.
basically that would be the magic here, speaker distortion.
maybe a little bit to do with the fact it was a sealed box and not quite deep enough.
Edit* when all else fails check the Invalid Link Removed. It seems the Dual showman reverb 2x15 would have the JBL-D130F which is a guitar speaker...glorious amounts of highend for a fifteen and very high sensitivity almost 103dB. And the Super Bassman 2x15 would have the D140F. sorry so i think the D130 and D140 shared the same basket with minor changes to the 140 for power handling. the later K140 is the workhorse standard. xmax increased for more bass handling, but the sensitivity and highend are slightly less for the added xmax. different basket and the well recognized blue logo and white label with black basket instead of grey

Thanks Bogey Bass.... here is my problem... I am not sure if Mike used the D130s or the 140 cabinet... but I do know that the FUZZ sound he uses has LOTS of HIGH END and the lows of the bass parts comes from a second DI track.. the two blend together to create the sound... I have all the right vintage instruments except the cabinet to try and duplicate this sound (including a vintage Shaftesbury Duo Fuzz).
I have a line on the D130s and might pick them up first and if that isn't the sound, will go fishing for a pair of the D140s..... until then I will still think about this dilemma in that there might be another way to identify what speakers these were.
