I need some recommendations. I've never bought a head and cabinet before, but it's looking like it's time. The combo amps just aren't cutting it for me anymore.
Here's what I want:
1 4 x 10 Cab
1 1 x 15 (or 18) Cab
1 Amp Head (1000 W or greater)
I suggest you get a head in the 450W-900W range at 8 ohms and consider either two 112s or two 115s. You can get the cabs one at a time.. Genz Benz, Aguilar, Mark Bass, GK and TC Electronics are all good light weight heads to consider.. The Hartke stuff is pretty solid as well along with the Ampegs, Mesas and Edens .. but I prefer the lighter smaller stuff. Look in the classifieds here. A lot of this depends on what kindof music you are playing and how much sound you wuill need. I know the old adage better to have t and not need it than to need it and not have it very well... but you may find that two 115/6 cabs will do just about anything you need them to do as long as you have an amp that can run them loudly and cleanly.
