I always wanted an Icon the first time I saw one....but if I were to really reward myself...(I REALLY want a Thumb 5 Broadneck myself...)
But I am not getting a divorce and I will probably never afford one....pipe dreams.

The best divorce bass is a hot Mexican girlfriend. At least that's what I did. It's worked out pretty well so far...
I think it's too soon for another wallet-sucker....just get the Spector....for now.
Too bad there appears to be only divorce basses and not marriage basses...
As difficult as it may be, I would do my best not to be in a hurry, let the dust settle, and play as many basses as you can to help with the decision making.
Maybe you could consider a road trip to someplace with a big bass store, Chicago perhaps.
There are also a lot of possibilities in the classifieds if you are willing to get a used one--- some are almost new and barely played.

That Spector is pretty sweet. Always liked the looks of the Icon but never had a chance to play one.
I actually thought about that. I'm moving on Memorial Day weekend and I took June 1-3 off as well. I could road trip during that time and find some places that have a better bass selection than GC and the other stores in my area.
The Carvin will likely disappoint. Their necks are baseball bats compared to the other two you have listed.
Personally, were it me, I'd get the Spector. But that Ibanez looks damn fine.

Brother I am sorry/congratulations. I went though something very similar only it wasn't that I got any money, but I was able to get out without bankrupting myself or her so that is good.
My recommendation is to look for a Spector Rebop Euro, or a used Spector Euro neck through. I think they would be fantastic instruments for about the same cost to you.

When I got married 15 years ago, My girl was studying and than I went back some years after her. So the money wasn't at the rendez-vous ... this year I got some bonus from my job. So I bought for near 3500$ of gear!
So, I guess I had a 15 years marriage gear!
Hey man, so sorry to hear that things didn't go well my friend. Here at the Talk Bass Community we want to encourage you as better days are ahead ! Keep your head up and keep moving forward. As for the divorce bass I would offer you a Spector NS-5XL for your consideration. Why not top it off with a new bass amp as well. Perhaps, a GK 1001rbii or a GK Fusion 550 with a GK Neo 4x12 on the side...blessing to you.i'd get a Roscoe, but a Euro is very tempting as well.
Baseball bats? My experience is that they are thinner than a Fender jazz. It's not like they are P basses. Have you played one?
Coming up on my first year anniversary haha good thing I have a very understanding wife from a pretty musical family.

Modern ? Active? I would look at the MTD Kingston basses. My fave is the "super", and the Saratogas are pretty awesome too.
