I've seen some dope Carvins. I'd probably go that route. Definitely over an Ibanez.

Stingray HH. You already know the SR vibe, and otherwise are looking at dual-soapbar basses. I'd give the Ibanez serious thought, but don't know how it feels or plays, and I have a lot of respect for EBBM quality control and build.
I'm glad the healing process can now begin for you. I'm from the KC area as well (love your OLP by the way) and love stopping by new shops I haven't been to before. I like you have been to most of them in the KC area, so I'm interested in what shops/cities you plan to hit for my own personal tour some time in the future.
I haven't played any of those basses, but I own a lower end Ibanez SR, and have also played a BTB that had the Nordstrands. I say the Ibanez.

I've also heard a Spector similar to that one as well. They're all good basses to me, I don't really think you can go wrong at all. You also can't go wrong by waiting and seeing what else is out there.
My divorce didn't cost me too much financially, and I kept the house, but I can't say I wanted it to happen when it did, so it cost me on a different level, and I definitely wasn't capable of celebrating. I think I lost like 15 pounds. 4 years later I'm grateful to have made it through those times, and to have found myself in a much better situation.

Try shopping around, there are dealers making deals on EBMM basses. Street price is $1995 I think, so with a discount, not completely out of the question.
Apparently I like pouring GAS on a fire.
If you can go $1,500, treat yourself right and find a used Sadowsky in great shape.

I Love the spector basses..My old NS2 and NS5 were quite possibly the best sounding ROCK basses that i ever owned. But honestly.. I have played a few of those Ibanez basses and they sounded real good
This past Sunday, May 7th, I was feeling the satisfaction of having taken a good load off. And as I flushed the toilet, it dawned on me: this was my former wedding anniversary. Must have been that "circling the drain" sound that helped me make the connection. I smiled vigorously.
My divorce bass was a nice new Fender 2012 Limited Edition Jazz. It was just so pretty with that transparent red finish, and there was nobody else raiding the bank account, so I jumped in with both feet. But on the way to pick it up, I stopped by the bank and took it out in cash. A debit card just wouldn't do the moment justice. There was something very sexy about paying for that bass with crisp Benjamins, and, whoa! No screech of opposition.
Bliss.
I don't advocate divorce, but when it makes sense, there's nothing left to do but enjoy yourself! Pick a good bass, you've earned it.

Nordy big singles sound awesome, the sr1400e in flat colour finishes look cool as does the sr1800.
That being said, I would go with the Spector, been eyeing one of these up recently drool Looks stunning with the bubinga top, has a satin neck finish and I personally really like the Aggie pickups and pre. The euro lx basses are beautiful, but it's down to personal preference whether you like painted or unfinished necks (I prefer the latter).

Actually, if you pick smart like I did your stable can grow exponentially if you desire. Find a partner using the head on your shoulders, not in your pants.
