Just to mix things up even more, I'm adding the Catalinbread Heliotrope to the list of pedals that I can't decide between :/

hmmmm.... I think I'm debating between four different pedals now; and can only afford 2 (money-wise). All three of the Iron Ethers - Cygnet, Oxide, and Xerograph, and the Malle 616 delay....

Which 2 do you think I should get in your opinion. Also, how do you go about ordering the expression pedal from Iron Ether, as it's not listed on their website....

You have my vote for the Malekko ekko 616. I do really want to try one of those heliotropes too.

Heliotrope is a very interesting pedal. i would REALLY suggest either sitting down with it for an hour or so or finding a place with a very generous return policy.

it's an awesome little pedal, but it's pretty cantankerous too. it does a very nice ring moddy-bit crush sound. but with out the down sampling noise you get with a bitcrusher like the Hexe. that's kind of the Ultimate Pedal Bitcrushing thing. except for the WMD Geiger Counter, which i won't buy again until they put in a way to save patches.

it also does an.... interesting fuzz. it loses a bit of bottom with the gain IMO tho.

but the Heliotrope is very much a love it or hate it thing. and it helps a lot to get a decent amount of time into it to explore it. mine's stayed on my board for a long while.

IMO, YMMV all that.
