The MBASE stuff (with Wilson, Plaxico, Steve Coleman, etc) is great.

Nels Cline 4 is something picked up recently. Very cool.

I keep up with trumpet players and there are lots of new things happening on trumpet these days. It may be electrified. Not to mention the NewOrleans school and our beloved late Lester Bowie, the cold school has Arve Henriksen (with Bill Frisell who we know is OK, he was IN the Zorn Naked City band) Arve is continuing the technique of trumpet playing started by the great Jon Hassell who is on Remain In Light among many other things. his own projects for years

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio and Vulfpeck are wicked good IMO. Might not be totally new sounds, but amazing nonetheless.
