Help! need advice metal/hardcore rig

I gather you want a hybrid. So, for that type of $ i'd get a new/slightly used ampeg SVT4 pro, and some real nice cabs. My buddy's got one running a bag end 2x10, and ampeg 2x10 stereo and it kick serious metal a$$.

Or I'd blow it all and get the best all tube head I could afford. Like a Trace Elliot V8, Matamp, or Orange and have the sickest bass tone known to man.

Sorry to step on your post cola_klinks, but I need to answer this question. Have you ever heard the SS150H used as bass rig, i_got_a_mohawk?

I have owned an SVP Pro & SVP CL (I prefer the CL over the Pro) & I currently own a '74 SVT in mint conditon loaded with all NOS tubes and still use my SS150H for 99% of my gigs because it sounds bad ass for metal (a lot like the '74 SVT believe it or not), its usually enough power on its own & it is light as a feather (well maybe 30-35 lbs). It really is a sleeper amp that sells for dirt cheap & if you like the "Dimebag" type of guitar sound, then you will love the dirty channel for guitar.
Ive used the SS 300 watt head at practice a few times, it was ok, but nothing on a full valve setup i didnt think

But fair enough, keeping it as an easy to use easy to replace work horse

I have 700rb with 2 peavey headliner 410 cabs . I love em for the price those cabs defiantly do the trick . At practice I have been running one of the cabs and it's plenty loud with volume set at 3 clear crisp and punchy
