Double Bass Help w/a rig mini-makeover?

Thank you Ryanpet42; I am all but decided on the Bass Max, just watching for a deal/saving up gig money for the whole makeover. It seems any Db resonates pretty wildly. I will talk to my luthier about an eliminator. The EQ is, at $50, a cheap potential fix or near-fix.

Edit: Also, I am currently running through a Pure pre; I like it but would consider replacing it to combat the aforementioned issue(s).

Update: Snagged an Eden WT-330, plugged into a Flite 2x10. MUCH more pleasant tone, far less screechiness, NO feedback. Was asked to turn down.:D
I had a similar rig yrs ago- a CXC-110(330+1x10 cab) & LOVED it for DB and slab. Might not bother w/the Bassmax, this rig is really nice. Would like a pair of 1x12's for flexibility...

Update/status report: Ran through the new head at an outdoor doubling gig. BL said I sounded muddy, so I may need to tweak a bit. I liked it just fine. :D I did plug into the speaker section of the Carvin 2x12 combo, thinking I'd get better volume. Will try the 2x10 next time. Totally, I like it to the point I am not terribly eager to try the Bassmax, at least not right away.
