Help with finding the perfect DI/preamp

+1 on trying to get others to reduce their stage volume. Maybe you'll be successful with that but I have my doubts. Next, consider a cab change. I used the HLF a few years ago and never got a cutting sound on stage. Lots of pillowy lows and if driven hard, wouldn't get any louder. Plus, it was a b*tch to move. Fat low and cumbersome. Much easier to tilt back a 8x10 for rolling, that that 4x10. Could tip it and push it into van or truck fairly easily. All that said, you could do better getting an efficient cab, smaller than an 8x10, and put it on a stand or tilt it with one of the many devices made for doing that, so that your speakers are aimed at your head.

Aaand...do yourself a big favor. Get a folding hand cart. Mine is one of my most indispensable pieces of gear.
