Help With Strap Locks

Grinding the original screw is a good idea, and I have done it a couple of times. Its always a good idea to try and use the original if possible, if not just drill carefully, its not as frightening as it sounds! And preferable to getting a bigger screw stuck.
 
Not sure of soaping or greasing the screw is best. It reduced friction going in, so it can reduce friction coming out as well right?

If you did it correctly the first time, why would you want to remove it?

A bar of Ivory soap makes the best lubricant (hee hee....he said lubricant!). I found the best source to be next-to-the-sink in my wife's bathroom. Drives her nuts when freshly unwrapped bars keep disappearing.
