Is this a trend for the the foreseeable future? Is everything old, new again? Seems like a few companies seem to think it's time to bring back the 80's. What's your take on all this? {} {} {}
Loved the 80's and also all the choice we had back then , so many different brands & colours it was a great decade to be a bassist. liking the look of these 3 as well .
I was literally thinking the same thing yesterday. The 80’s are back in full force it seems. Mullets, jean jackets, and bright colored guitars.
I like the two with rounded horns, I was never a fan of "pointy" guitar/bass bodies. That is a disturbing shade of green though.
Let's not forget shoulder pads and tankloads of spraynet, for those who have hair left . Not crazy about some colors, but that's always personal, so YMMV. Don't know if it qualifies for the 80s theme, but Jackson had a Ricky-inspired outting recently.
Your hair wouldn't move out of place in a hurricane , mines gone now but great memories from that time. For me I loved & still do Peavey basses from the 80's .
The Charvel’s paint & pickup covers screams 1964-1968 Ford to me. Obviously that brand & style is more 1978-1986, and yeah, the other two are super ‘82-91. 80s-flavored stuff had been hot for the last decade outside of the rock scene. This all seems a bit late as 90s flavors are creeping into fashion very heavily the last two years. Seems like the Novaselik Gibson RD was a bit early to launch right.
The new Fender boxer is great. The new Charvel looks awesome too with the cream pickup covers. I dig the look of the Ibanez but after @Lobster11 review of the bass the preamp is way too noisey for me. How is it Ibanez, that makes the majority of thier basses active just mess this one up. On top of that they didn't add a trimpot to take the preamp like the ATK had.
my main bass in the 80's was a Yamaha RBX5f , I did all of my gigs with that bass all through the 80's , 90's and early 2k's . I only had one bass back then lol
