BTW the jam leader is Leonard Shapiro, stage name Moses Oakland. Besides being an excellent guitar player, he is a FINE guitar tech (Leonard Shapiro Guitar Repair) in Minneapolis.

I know that's a scary/intimidating thing to do.
I've run local blues jams around here for a long time, and the whole "OK, it's in G, basic 12 bar blues with a 2/5 turnaround...1,2,3,4" and go is spooky sometimes!
But, it's real addictive. With the right bunch of folks, it can be really magical as people listen to each other, and draw off each other.
Congrats, have fun, and carry the groove brutha!

I will say this -- and pardon me if it sounds corny ...
This evening, I picked up my bass to do some practicing and I had a whole different feeling. I didn't feel like I was "just fooling around" anymore. I feel like a musician again.
It's good to be back.

+1; Smiling and looking away from the fingerboard are too things that I don't see in players with little live experience. You look like a real pro there.

Congrats, Dwayne! The next time you decide to go, give me a shout. I always enjoy playing with Leonard/Moses because music is such a joyful experience with him. Long ago, I had quit playing for a number of years. I decided I wanted to play again and started going to a jam he ran (years ago) at the Blues Saloon. He was always helpful and had something positive to say...he built me up rather than tearing me down. Leonard is a great guy as well as a fine luthier and a monster player. Anyway, I know how you feel and I'm happy for you. By the way, I'm glad the Audere sounded good. The next time I go, I'll bring my Audere equipped Bacchus Jazz Bass.
