Hey

Sorry for two threads about my life in one day but today really sucks.

OK so my sister called me and told me that my Mom is bringing her boyfriend home for the first time this weekend. Now, I have yet to meet and of her boyfriends as of yet so this is a first for me. After I got off the phone with my sister I called my Mom to tell her that I really don't want to meet him and that she shouldn't bring him home. She told me that she is bringing him home. That I have to meet him because we're both a part of her life.

Why the **** is she doing this to me? Dose she think it's a good idea? She must because I told her that she shouldn't and that it's a terrible idea. What am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to act like I want to meet this ***hole? Am I supposed to go up to him and say "Hay what's up douche McDouche douche?" and act like this is normal?

I don't want to meet this guy! I told my Mom I don't what to meet this guy! Why doesn't she understand that me meeting him is a bad idea!!?

Seriously man... People move on with their lives. Why is your moms boyfriend a douche? Has he hurt your mom or your family in any way? Im not sure what is the deal with your mother and father, but if your mother is ready to see someone else you should be happy for her. And who knows, maybe you will really like the guy.

Don't be selfish. He makes your mom happy, so you should go in with the idea that he is a nice guy. Put her feelings first. I'm sure when, if, you get married she will be there to meet your wife/husband.

+1 again. This isn't about you, it's about your mom being happy. I can understand not wanting to meet the guy, but this is one of those things that you do for the people that you love. Stop taking it personally, grin and bear it, and for Christ's sake, give the guy a chance.

Why don't you like this guy? Just protective of your mom?

-Mike

I don't think I hate him. I've never felt this way about any of my Mom's previous boyfriends. It's just, she's bringing this one home to meet me. She's never done thins before. This means she serious about this guy. Frankly, I'm scared. I know it's selfish but I don't want my Mom to do this. I feel like she isn't considering my feelings.

She shouldnt have to. More so, you arent considering your Mom's feelings. She likes the guy enough to bring her home to meet you. Have a nice plate of warm buttery carrots prepared for his arrival.

Another thing to consider. Your mom has raised you since you started pooping yourself (notice I didn't indicate that you've stopped?), if she's dating, and you haven't met any of the other guys, well then there is a reason for this. You're mom doesn't think those other guys are worthy of meeting her son. This guy is different. You're mom is making a judgement call. Give her the benefit of the doubt. She's already filtered out the other guys. She wouldn't present him to you if he didn't pass her criteria.

TB, meet Oedipus

Speaking of Oedipus,

Yeah. Just give it a try dude. You never know, he could be a really great guy.

Change sucks. What separates the good people from the losers is how they accept that change. Some go with the flow, and make their way through the crap in life. these guys, while they maybe in some crap though life, are generally much happier than others because they no they made it through. Others will whine, complain, fight the change through the entire ordeal, and never accept the change. These guys will be forever miserable. Just try. Honestly, it will make you a better person.
