Oh, I knew you were kidding about the Muhahaha. Because, as we know a gal's Muhahahaha is too important to be got rid of. (Down, boys.)

Gotta have girl power...indeedy. Sooo....ya don't play bass....but you TALKBass, therefore you must THINKBass which naturally is the whole basis of PLAYINGBass.

Well, that's my getout for not reading properly and I'm sticking to it. :p

Man, am i the only one who gets annoyed that that people that have nothing to do with bass, have never played one, or don't are ont TALK BASS??? You know,,, TALK,,,, about,,, BASS.... like,,, BASSPLAYERS????Well, as long as paul gets that check, i doubt he minds.

We didn't do the switch thing, either, but one time my brother picked a fight with some guy and told the dude that he was Chris. I was quite angry with my brother for a long time after that.:mad:

Yea, I have to give credit to a friend of mine. He is the one who got me interested in basses. I find myself listening to bass lines in music, and Gard is trying to convince me into buying a cheapie to learn...You know, I just may do that....:eek: :D

No, I'm a bassplayer.

I was saying (if you read my post) that paul doesnt care WHO uses this board as long as you PAY the 20. And it's a well spent 20, i'm just saying,.... ah forget it. no one cares anyway. Reminds me of when i was on skatetalk.com when i was 16 and being mad that there was not a single person on that skateboarded.

Well, Yes! I tend to agree that this is a site for bass players only. There are vast numbers of internet forums which are general chat or which are about specific interests - there is a forum for everybody - but this one is for bass players.

I came here first to talk to other bass players and I don't see why anybody would come to a site for bass players unless they are one - as I say, there are plenty of other sites you can hang around and discuss whatever you want - this is the one for bass players!!

On the front page - it is made pretty clear that this a site for bassists and Paul says :

"The TalkBass Forums currently feature:
707,816 posts in 60,639 threads, with 29,033 registered bassists"

So he is obviously presuming that all members are bassists.

Surely in an internet forum gender is entirely irrelevant? Anybody can say they are who they like - there is no way of proving it - even if you post a picture, there is no way to prove it relates to any particular poster. I could easily set up another username, go and find hundreds of pictures of teenage girls and post some of them as "me" if I really wanted to! :rolleyes:

The UK government is again today posting guidelines and information about how paedophiles target children via forums just like these - the Police say that most will adopt an "identity" which is quite false. So - middle-aged men will pose as teenage girls to lure others.

I think that basically all you can accept as true is what people actually say and that anything else like age, gender etc has to be treated as irrelevant or open to question.
