Hickory as a tone wood - why not?

Any updates on your project?
Yeah my resonant head warped. So the neck is gonna be repurposed for a different build.

Same idea with hickory and maple.. But for now it's been shelved indefinitely. Just been playing and singing

Actually.. Just took a look at it again. It's flat again.

Either way the body isn't stable so it's been shelved

That's too bad but now we know.

Also, to clarify an earlier post about wood density, the Brazilian Ipe has a specific gravity of 0.91-1.10. The chunks I have on hand sink in water so definitely above 1.0.
