High Pass Filter (HPF) and Low Pass Filter (LPF) Mega Thread

Just finished reading this thread, the whole of it. I want a HPF, badly.

Interested in DIY options, I found these. Does anybody have any experience with these kits/PCBs? There is very little info, just schematics, parts lists and wiring diagrams, somehow I suspect they’re not original desings but copies... of what?

I looked at one of their random schematic and it contained obvious errors.

I have a Broughton HPF on order and am still trying to figure out the best placement for it on this little board, right after the tuner or right before the preamp. I've heard everything from the beginning to the end to it doesn't matter.

I think it's pretty safe to say that the consensus is to put it at the beginning. There's no point in feeding those frequencies to your whole signal chain just to filter them out at the end. They won't add anything useful, and they may be detrimental. That said, right before or right after the tuner is totally fine. it's just a tuner after all.

My approach is to see what works best in each situation, but as a general rule I try to eliminate frequencies I do not want as early in the signal chain as possible. Some effects may be triggered more by certain frequencies or do some tone shaping (HPF/LPF kind of things) where it may be more desirable to feed a full range signal to that effect and then apply a HPF (if/as needed) afterwards.

Agreed. Removing the unwanted/unnecessary is a good starting point...

I bought that kit and incorporated it into a blender pedal I built. Worked fine. I then modified the blender pedal schematic I used to have that feature built into it. I had some new PCB's made and have one assembled, but haven't made it into a pedal yet....honey do list and all....

[QUOTE = "beans-on-toast, post: 25328798, member: 123838"] Хорошие форумы.

Со временем я обнаружил, что розетки этого типа в золоте

встаньте лучше, чем этот тип, на синюю доску. Стоимость лучшей розетки не намного больше.

да, цанговые патроны лучше и надежнее
