Highest vocals ever??

Jón Þór Birgisson of Sigur Rós gets pretty high.

Not the highest ever, but I think he pulls off what he does extremely well, right from the beginning.

Great song too. So powerful.

I mean jesus, look at his neck! Watching him sing is crazy.

Where did you find the data for these? I have read on a few different occasions that Mariah Carey has a range of ~ 5 octaves. Tim Storms allegedly has a range of 6 and Georgia Brown is the only person that has hit 8 in a verifiable setting (that I am aware of).

I don't believe that for one second, myself. EIGHT octaves? Not going to happen.

I doubt Mariah Carey has much more than 3.

Bradley Delp (RIP) --- INSANELY high background vocals on Boston's hits like "More Than A Feeling," etc.

Roger Taylor - great drummer, great vocalist (the only reason Roger Taylor didn't sing lead for Queen was, well, Freddie friggin' Mercury) - but listen to Roger's voice on "39" (no effects - he nailed it night after night live - high A, besides the sustained Bb5 at the end of the operatic section of Bohemian Rhapsody). His total range was A2 - E6.

Freddie Mercury - Just a phenomenal voice with an unmatched range (F2 - F5 full ranged, then to E6 falsetto) with power to spare all along the way.
Here's a website that examine's his range and voice:

Mariah actually is closer to 4 - still pretty damned astounding (reportedly her highest note is a B6 in a live performance of "Emotion" at the Grammy's way back when!)

As others have noted, it can't be 8 - she could hit the lowest C on a piano (C1), which VERY few men can do - as well as hit the highest (C8) - impossible,
