Highway 1 or Highway One

Bridge pickup is longer than neck.

Really?

Guess what! Same with my '09 American Standard. Never noticed it before. You can tell I'm not primarily a J guy, I guess. :D

Grease Bucket circuitry (although I don't really know what that means).
From its inventor, Mike Eldred:

Howdy!

The tone control developed at Fender gives you some loading, without losing gain. It was developed for a guitar we were making for Billy F. Gibbons. The term "Greasebucket" comes from that can my mom used to keep on the stove where she'd pour the excess bacon grease. That stuff was good to make gravy with. As with the guitar, you crank it up, add some of that "grease" and mannnnn, it sounds KILLA!

OK, there you have it.

I think I should perhaps have a long talk with Mike some day.

The matte finish has buffed out to a (dull) shine from forearm wear and lap wear (I have spent most of the time playing it in the seated position).
A little polishing with swirl remover or even a good wax will bring out the shine without substantially removing paint.

nice tdizzle I have the black/tort combo as well, glad to hear the matte will wear off somewhat completely

It is still matte in the center, but has buffed out around the edges, where most contact occurs. The back has developed a little shine to it as it always rests against my shirt. People have actually questioned weather or not the body is authentic because it has developed a little shine to it, although it is nowhere near the shine of a thick poly finish. You can also see the pea sized wear spot by the bridge pickup that has developed from my thumbnail while playing in the "Jaco" position. That happened really quickly, like a couple of weeks to a month. I have tried to sell this bass more than once, but no one bit and I could not be more happy about it. It sounds amazing when recorded. I would leave a sound clip but don't know how. How do you leave a sound clip?
