Just be sure you don't have cheap cymbals. A cheap set with good cymbals will sound basically ok with a good drummer.

A great kit with cheap B8 cymbals will sound…atrocious!

My experience with the website is limited at best.

Tried a cheap one once and didn't like the feeling. Maybe it was because it was cheap? Anyway, with a real drum kit and comprehensive neighborhood/family, it's a different ballgame… and quite addictive.

For the record, I have a little Gretsch Catalina Jazz (18 inches bass drum) and love it. Also, a gazillion of good cymbals, snares and sticks. Just to pair with my gazillion of basses, bass gear/gadgets ;).

The only B8s I've played worth a crap are Paiste and the old Sabian B8 series to a lesser extent. Stay far away from everything else, including those horrible Zildjian ZBTs!

Yeah, forgot that Paiste are B8's…

I gave my first cymbals to a colleague son's for his first kit lately. A few weeks ago, she said to me that he upgraded the cymbals and asked if I wanted the old trash covers back. I said, no thanks! The hats were ZBT's I think…

She will maybe use them for artistic projects in her classroom. It's all they are worth for.

I got a mid priced set, and really like them, and using a few cables and adapters I can use an iPad as the control module, garage band drum kits sound great.

I have an acoustic kit as well, but the space they take up, and my tinnitus make them a poor choice in my music room.

Yep, I have a friend who put them up on a shelf in his house. He offered to sell them to me, I played them once and said No thanks.

Surprisingly, Paiste's PST7 line is not bad, even though it's lesser than 2002s. And they do have a B20 line that are pretty legendary (602). Not familiar with anything else they make but Colorsounds, which look great but sound like someone coated them with some rubberized stuff. They're so bad that Chad Smith, who just switched to Paiste, used them for one gig because they match his silver drums, then ditched them.

Available in Red and Blue… I prefer my old dirty Zildjians, Sabians, Dreams and other Turkish cymbals…
