Beautiful. Personally, I wish they would make one with no cutaways so it’d just be the shape of an acoustic guitar. Pure symmetry. I’d also love to see a “no-cut” club. That’s one of the many reasons I love the 500/1, it’s symmetrical.

I don’t, I just got it very recently, but I’d gladly make one! Rigged into it is a TC Electronic 250 Watt Bass Head. It sounds great with just a completely flat EQ!
I’ll try to make a video and post it sometime this week, if I forget, just remind me!
I tried the bass with it's stock strings on a couple of gigs - it was ok but nothing special. Pulled out an old set of D'Addario Nylon Tapewound .050-.105 which I have had on other basses and fitted them up. What a difference strings make. Perfect for those 60's songs. They'll do me.

I like baseball bat necks. Someday I’m going to own a 1956 500/1 (first year of production) it’s a holy grail bass. Now I’ve got another bass on the GAS list.
If you like the baseball bat necks, you would like the V58. They recently discontinued them, but there are a few out there available right now. I just picked mine up about two months ago, and been loving it.
That 56 is a rare bird. I have yet to see one available online, though I do see them out there in the wild. However, Hofner has a custom shop. It would be interesting to see if they could make one.

I played a legit 56/57 (can’t remember The exact year) in guitar center in NYC a couple years ago in the vintage section. It felt and and played like a Hofner. The neck was huge, like a baseball bat broomstick kind of thing. It didn’t even have a trussrod but I guess you don’t need one when the neck is that large and stable. It was awesome.
I already have my dream Hofner imagined down to every last specification. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to have the Hofner Custom shop build it.

Had a rehearsal the other day with my Hofner ct club bass that hi-lighted how critical choice of bass amp/cab etc is, I often play at a local jam night and more times than not the house bass combo is a little on the woofy side and the low end just thuds, in fact I often play higher up the neck at the jam night to avoid this, turned up for rehearsal and the rehearsal place had an 8x10 Marshall bass cab, the tone from this setup was just divine, big, rich,warm with deep,deep lows but never woofy or thuddy, made me remember why I chose a Hofner in the first place.
