Hey guys, here's my Contemporary, along with a new set of Pyramid Gold flatwounds. I have a lot of basses, but I can't seem to put this one down!

Bobolux, welcome to the group. You are member 68. When you get the 500/1 done you will have to entertain us with new pics.

Jazz Bass 74 - I have gone through many basses and have kept the EB-3, my Hofner 500/1 and now my new toy a Spruce top Kala Ubass. I love them all and they have satisfied my GAS for some time now.

Just purchased a 63 Reissue! Wow! What a fun and great sounding bass. Any tips on getting the action lower ? The only thing I can think off is shaving the base of the bridge down. Has anyone done this? Neck relief is okay although not dead straight ( can't seem to get it to adjust to straight no matter how much I tighten the truss rod )
I'll post some pictures when I get a chance..

THanks Ed. That sight is really an excellent resource. They have one thread in particular that goes into stupendous detail on how to make your own control panel. That answered all my questions about the control panel itself. Maybe one of these days I can make one with the original tort plate and creme knobs. Throw on the tort pickguard and I'm good. The only other thing I would need would be to find the longer version of the tailpiece somewhere.

Too bad I could not join. Their registration system must not like my ISP.

I'm sure there's solid info out there on point but my guess given his tone is he favored the neck pickup.
