I just saw that Hofner has the number 2 selling bass on Reverb right now. Only Squier is selling more. As a Hofner fan I am quite happy about this, but I acknowledge it is just a blip and likely due to the new Beatles documentary. Nonetheless nice to see an underdog knock the champ around a bit. PS. I know that some folks will point out that Squier is Fender. I will not enter that debate, but have at it!
I didn't even know Reverb listed the highest selling instruments. Is there somewhere to click on that gives that info, or are you looking at sold listings?
I'm a big Reverb fan but until I see that Hofner is outselling Fender at Sweetwater, AMS, Zzounds, Guitar Center, Sam Ash, etc, etc, etc, it means nothing to me...and I'm not a Fender fan by any stretch of the imagination.
Ah, gotcha! Never even paid attention to the number. What's really strange is this article published by reverb in November. https://reverb.com/news/the-best-selling-guitars-of-2021 Where Hofner is listed as #11. Get Back must have really given them a surge.
Well, I find it interesting since I love my Squiers. And it's also interesting that the sales in Hofners may be high because of the "Get Back" doc.
In that case virtually any bass could be the top seller if you search for a specific time from a specific retailer. First Act outselling Fender* *From 2006-2007 at Toys R Us
Sure. Again, I was only referring to the fact that Hofner is outselling Fender on Reverb right now. What you are presenting is a red herring.
I’ll admit I wanted/want one after watching it But I have 7 very different basses and an Earth Super G-2000, no problem getting Paul’s sound.
All those Hofner bass owners figured out this is their best chance of getting rid of that violin bass they haven't touched in 10 years.
I’d make a quip about Karens, except I find the attitude underlying the whole phenomenon of calling people Karen to be keeping our society divided. Plus, it’s unfair to plenty of nice people named Karen. Tell Jennifer I say hello. You pick the one.
I also saw somewhere that, for 2021, the Fender Telecaster is the number one selling musical instrument in the world.
