So apparently you’ve never heard of lying by omission? It may be technically accurate, but it is obviously misleading.
I've taught about acts of omission several times in my ethics classes. Not a reasonable expectation for a headline really.

Never been a Hofner fan myself aside from the weight. That having been said, I've seen a lot of Squiers that look mighty interesting. Over the years, I've found myself gravitating more toward what feels right versus what sounds right. Might be a bit counter-intuitive, but I guess it's sort of "have feel, sound will follow" scenario for me.
Not really an attack on Fender, but okay.Oh joy, the anti Fender for the sake of it club has reason to celebrate.
Maybe if Hofner only offered pink basses they could retain the title of largest seller of pink basses in the world.

Wait until those new Hofner owners realize how difficult a Beatle Bass is to play. I found them to be too light and too small for me and I have three short scale basses now. Especially if they're coming from a solid body bass. I've tried a few Hofners over the 43 years I've been playing and could never bond with any.
Yeah, a lot of it is preference and comfort. I love playing my Hofners, but find Fender Precisions very uncomfortable.
I thought it was interesting lately when Fender announced 1/3 of all there sales are to churches and praise/worship musicians.
Is the purpose of a post on Talkbass to get the most clicks, or to share and discuss relevant information? If your headline had included “on Reverb” at the end of the threat title this thread would be much cleaner and more meaningful.
It’s not a headline, this isn’t a news paper. It’s a thread title, this is a discussion board.
I'm not holding a TalkBass commenter to some sort of professional headline writing standard, but when you have plenty of room "Hofner outselling Fender" omits some important parts... where a more accurate statement is certainly: "One model of Hofner bass is currently selling more than other specific models of Fenders (but Fender is still selling way more)"
