Hole filling

View attachment 3410591 I changed my pre and omitted the frequency selector switch because I now have a sweepable.

Now i have a hole. What would be the best way to approach this? My line of thought is since it's a burl already I can get a piece of wood that has a small knot in an appropriate shade and shape it to fit, then glue. The natural knot would likely not show much at all .
If there are better ways to get good results I'm all for hearing them.

Not knowing what kind of bass or where the hole is, it's hard to say.

Do you have a pic?
Sorry. Forgot to add it. It's in the post now.

Interesting choice of thread title OP :D

Personally I would put some sort of dummy pot or dowel with a matching knob in place, rather than attempt to permanently patch the hole. You'll never get a perfectly matching finish, plus it leaves open the option to change your controls around again in the future, and won't hit your resale value quite as much.
