I just saw wooten last week at my local Sam ash......... Holy crap...... I thought he was great when I saw him on you tube and on albums but damn he is great live too.......

Victor's a great player! It's cool that you got a chance to see him live.

The Wootens are from my area...so Vic blew me away when he was still a young teen (& me being a late teen...I had problems with that!) ;)
Then, a period elapsed of not seeing/hearing him...then The Flecktones came on the scene (w/ a Lonesome Pine TV Show &, believe it or not, VH-1 played their "Sinister Minister" video & local/cool FM stations played their stuff)...anyway-
At that time, early '90s-ish, he sounded like 2 bass players. A couple years go by & he's sounding like 3 bass players.
I haven't seen him live now for quite awhile; what's he up to now...8-9 bass players?

IF anyone has the opportunity to catch him live (in any capacity) - please do so (you'll thank yourself, later) ;)

The first time I saw Victor was in NYC. the Flectones were the opening act for Strunz and Farrah, a Nouveau Flamenco band. I did not know what to expect. I could not believe what I saw and heard. From that moment I was a fan of the Flectones. Wooten was simply amazing. He is constantly evolving as an artist.

Well,

I am going to see Victor Wooten for the first time on 3/10/11. I mainly got tickets to see Stanley Clarke; Victor is the backup band. I have heard a lot about Victor and have a couple of the Bela Fleck and the Flecktones albums.

Anyway, I am looking forward to see both of them play soon!!

Victor Wooten LIVE does no justice to any video recording....

Hes amazing.... You gotta give him credit i Love his SOLO shows

he is FEARLESS on the bass....

Talk about exploring the chromatic scale lol :)
