Horn/tweeter on or off?

I didn't put tweets in my fEARfuls. Someday I might add one to one of the cabs, but I don't really find anything useful about about 5K - 6K with bass guitar.

On the rare occaisions when I have PA support, I send a DI with everything over 5K filtered off.

Off, although occasionally I might have it on just a little to catch a little bit of extra treble. But a little goes a very long way for me, and if it's on, it's just barely on.

Both.

When I built my fEARful I put the tweeter on the side to be able to adjust. Here is a ******** *** demo of me sucking on a Microkorg to show the difference with the tweeter on and off. There is a HUGE difference. IMO, I just can't see why people would turn their's off all the time. For fuzz, I get it...but otherwise you're sucking off a good portion of your tone.

Not a portion that I think sounds good for what I do. I'm not always completely fuzzed out, but I pretty much never play completely clean.

One of the reasons I sold my 2x10 was that it had a non-adjustable tweeter and with how my tonal tastes developed... it just didn't sound very good.

Of course, if I start doing something completely different musically, that may change and I might want a cab with a tweeter.

maybe I'm weird, but I've been running a sansamp with mild distortion to a very distorted/fuzz sounds, and I find I actually like the tweeter on. If I'm going to do this, should I roll off some of the 5k? I currently have it at noon. This is with my 410 cab by the way. I plan on selling this cab and getting two sealed 210s and possibly using a 115 w/tweeter all together in vertical alignment. any objections? I think it could sounds killer, but maybe not. the 210s are Ampegs and the 115 is an acoustic, so I'm aware of possible phasing issues
