Did you see [REC]? It's the movie that Quarantine is an Americanized remake of. Personally, I think [REC] is the better movie.

+1 I could certainly do without it.

Last night, I watched Stage Fright and American Psycho. Stage Fright was quite enjoyable. Cheesy 80's acting, some good kills, and for a slasher movie the killer's get-up was pretty unique.

If you haven't seen American Psycho yet, go watch it. Now. This is one of those movies that I never get tired of watching. Bale's performance is awesome as his character spirals deeper into madness. Again, if you haven't seen this movie walk away from your computer and go watch it.

The shaky cam IS the movie in Cloverfield. At first I thought it was just the introductory segment, then I realized what a two bit movie it is. That one, I certainly wasted my money on. Like excane said, you're not missing much. I can't think of one scene that was worth the cost of the the plastic used to make the disc.

I love shaky cam :) While sometimes the cameraman could afford to shake a little less, the POV camera angles are a more realistic view on the film than high res shots on a planted camera. I also really liked Cloverfield :D

I watched The Mist last night. I decided to watch the black & white version because I really like the old school feel of the film. That and I think the cgi works better in b&w. Good story, good acting (especially Marcia Gay Harden), and a Hitchcock ending. Some say the ending was predictable and I'll give them that, but overall I dig this movie. Side note: I wanna know what happened to the painting of "The Thing" that was in the Drayton home at the beginning of the movie. Was the prop destroyed? I want it!

not so much a horror flick, more like comedy Horror but my friend left me a movie called "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon" I finally got around to watching it the other day and it was pretty good. "The next great psycho horror slasher has given a documentary crew exclusive access to his life as he plans his reign of terror over the sleepy town of Glen Echo, all the while deconstructing the conventions and archetypes of the horror genre for them."

My all time Favorite flicks "Braindead" aka Dead Alive Invalid Link Removed and "Bad Taste" Invalid Link Removed

both by Peter Jackson who went on to create Lord of The Rings

Anyone into the Tales From The Darkside series? Loved that show when I was a kid. I want to buy the dvds but I read a bunch of bad reviews about how the whole music score was replaced. What's up with that?

I dont know how you can not like Silent Hill.....The story was abit odd, but so is the game. But like I was saying the special effects are just awesome. If you watch it you'll have to watch the special features of the making of the movie. I Really like the seen of the girl getting her skin ripped off..... I would be more descriptive but I dont want to give the movie away if someone has not seen it. I notice there were not a lot of fans of the High Tension aka Haute Tension, I myself loved the movie. The editing was horrible in the beginning because the sound tape did not match up with the video but other than that, I thought it was a movie you just stuck around then the movie came alive. I thought it was great and had enough turns in the story line and enough gore for me to like. And I like the remake of prequel whatever it is called, of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It had some very gory seens in it and when leather face is running with a chainsaw he actually looks pretty scary looking versus the old movies. I love the old horror movies but when the are compared to nowadays they aren't quite as good. But some still are just as good. Anyone remember the movie "The Car," or "Live Long Die Slowly," "The Terror," and of coarse I think "The Shining," is a good movie still when compared against the new movies coming out.

I guess this thread is dying....Does anyone remember The Cube? ok movie but if it involves people dying I will sit through just about anything. Night of the living Dead was a great movie and I really liked the 3rd one because the girl who was in it with all the cutting and stabbing and piercing she did on her self I was find her VERY hot to look at.

H.G. Wells' Food of the Gods arrived today. Even the cover art is campy! Can't wait to watch this one this evening....I know I'll be sitting there thinking to myself, "This is so stupid, I can't believe I liked this when it came out."

I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Silent Hill, that's one that's in the stack to watch. Sounds like I may need to move it closer to the top of the stack.

You're thinking of the Return of the Living Dead series. Fun movies!

I watched Laid to Rest. Uh....well.....the kills were pretty cool. I'm glad I kept my expectations low.
