Did they ever come out with a better Hellraiser? I think I have seen all of them but the later ones seem to not relate what so ever to the original story line. Are there any new good Horror movies coming out or new released on DVD?

Can you elaborate a little more about it without giving too much up?
I accept a certain amount of B-movie goodness when I watch movies like this. In fact, I expect it. Flimsy story, bad acting, all that stuff. The lead "actress" in this one though, oh boy. In the special features she states that this is her first starring role. I'd argue that this is her first role since the 5th grade school play. Guys, here's a tip: if you;re going to set out to follow your dream of making a slasher flick DO NOT let your wife talk you into letting her play the heroine of the story if she can't act. I really think it was just her that killed the movie for me. What this guy should've done was saved the money he spent on getting Lena Heady and Thomas Dekkar (the Sara Connor Chronicles) for 5 minutes of screen time each and put that money into getting a starting actress that at least went to acting school. I do have to say though, I did like the look of the villain. He and the rest of the cast did a good job for this kind of movie. Go ahead, check it out. Just don't say I didn't warn you.

"B-movie goodness." I like that description. I admit it, I'm a B-movie fan.
I hadn't heard that either. Loved the original, I take it the remake will be produced with a larger budget?

I'm iffy on the newer Halloween. I just saw it again this week, and I like it more than when I first watched it, but there's some terrible script in there. I think I was expecting a little more as I'm a huge fan of Devil's Rejects. It is a good remake. The transition between being the talking kid and the silent adult could probably have gone a little smoother.

Honestly, I think his talent really lies as a musical supervisor (which should come as no surprise), I mean, how fantastic was Midnight Rider in the credits of TDR? That whole opening sequence was, in my opinion, the high point of the film, which is not to say I don't enjoy it--I own it.

I finally sat down to watch Zombie's remake of Halloween and I have to admit, it was pretty damn good. One of the few remakes to surpass the original. I know that may be blasphemy to some, but I was never a fan of the original and I really like how Rob has progressed as a director.
Seeing his usual gang of regulars always brings a smile to my face.

I've been reading reviews on "Martyr's", and it said it was a "deeply sad" movie.
Can you guys enlighten me on that? I want to see it, but is it a total bummer like "Mystic River", "Billion Dollar Baby" or "The Mist" (IMO).
Also wondering what you can tell me about "Irreversible" & "I Stand Alone" ?
I realize you must read through them as they're non-dubbed.

Martyrs isn't sad in the way those films are because you don't get an emotional attachment to the characters. I hate movies that make you cry (mostly because I'm a wuss and I cry easily), and this is not one of those. I don't want to say anything else about it and spoil the movie.
Ok guys I went and rented Martyr's from Blockbuster, and it had english as a second audio option.
No American movie has went this far (yet) - this takes "horror" to a whole new level. Like Bryan said - it almost seemed like two movies spliced together.
I have never seen a movie of this nature before - it's one of a kind.
I won't say anymore - don't want to wreck it for anyone that haven't seen it.

Does Ichi The Killer count for this thread? I watched it last night - get the idea from the movie trivia thread - and all I can can is HOLY ****.
Oh it's the same director? I had no idea. Two completely different movies, but that's not to knock either of them. Django is just plain fun as hell. 
Very Quentin-tarentino-ish, which I guess makes sense, since he has 2 cameos in it (and he really is terrible actor!)

And Visitor Q.... And Imprint from the MAsters of Horror Collection, it was the only one to not be allowed to air.
Imprint sucked imho, ok it has its moments but that's about it, nothing special.
I couldn't turn away from it - especially during the second half - the film work was good - the story itself was seriously deranged. I guess I can say I liked the movie, but I don't know if liked the story. Does that make any sense? I don't think I'll watch it again. After watching this one has to remember it was just a movie.
I liked it, but all those Masters of Horror episodes had a very lo-fi feel to them. I think HBO could've done better.
