How can I get this synth sound?

I could probably get close with an OC-2 doing octave down and a fuzz pedal.

What fuzz? I run my OC2 into a Blower Box and a Fuzzolo before, but I'm not digging those for a synthy tone like in the OP. I'd love to have a fuzz that gets synthy and yet is not so over the top that I get huge volume differential every time I turn it on. Basically something that I can slide in while playing some Jazz/Funk and still have it make sense.

A very good question. I am not an expert on fuzzes, to be honest, but I think you might want something a little more subtle and a little less midrangey than a Rat-based pedal for that sound. Like I have a fuzz setting on my VT Deluxe that I think would be perfect for it.

Yeah I used a big muff for years, and it was alright. I love RATs, but I used them for subtle grind tones. Actually fantastic for that. When it comes to doing synthy tones. I am still at a bit of a loss of what I'd like to do personally.

I see some real cool synth pedals being suggested here, but I am the type who doesn't like to turn a lot of knobs and doesn't need a million tones. The OC-2 is perfect design to me. The Red Witch Zeus could be a nice compliment to it.

You probably want a fretless bass too.

I was surprised at the sound I got with a fretless through my Aguilar octave divider and Boss OD pedals.

I've also got a Zoom 504 which I might get around to figuring how to use at some time, but it does have some interesting sounds to it.

Right at the beginning when the beat/synth kick in:

Full disclosure, that's my track, and the synth is an Arturia Microbrute.

I'm working on a drastically different project now, and I'd love to get my bass guitar as close to that ripping synth sound as possible. I've watched so many pedal videos, my head is spinning. Any opinions on how to best get that sound from my bass? Like, specific pedal recommendations.

Reminds me of my Dunwich Wizard Fuzz in this track I worked on. A bit of EQ work could get you there.

Manta will get you the fuzz and filter bits, no doubt, if you have the patience to work with it (probably less complex than the Impact at least). Octave is *almost* a requirement, and something like chorus or flange on the end would be a nice finishing touch, though not necessary for many synth noises.

I'd use an octave down with no dry signal into fuzz. The duality fuzz by darkglass works nicely for stuff like that because it has two fuzz circuits. I tend to like the duality knob to the right (which is the modern high gain) when using the fuzz by itself, and the duality knob to the left when (which is the gated fuzz) for more synthy stuff.

The sweeps would be the tough part.

Guys, About OC-2:
I'm thinking about the rehab of this pedal, I mean: should i go for OC-2 or the MXR one? Know, OC-2 its hard to find and they are getting very old, but sounds unique, but I'm worried about one of those broke in my hand. MXR still in production and can get very close from that OC-2 synthie tone(Juan Alderete video), so still have technical assistance. What do u guys think?? i'm asking becouse i founded a 50 buck OC-2 and a 100 bucks used MXR...

$50 for an OC-2 is a no-brainer.

And that's another reason I stick with the OC-2. I only paid $50 for mine, too. It's Taiwanese, but it has a Japanese PCB in it, so it's basically a Japanese OC-2. Not that I think it matters even a little. I've heard comparisons online and I think they sound the same, so I won't pay a premium for an "r".
