How diverse is your bass collection?

@B-Mac It's awesome! I rewired everything with new pots, switch and Jack which probably helped a good bit with the sound. Had to modify the neck pickup mount bracket due to a slight difference in size, though.

I'm asking as I have the Eastwood Classic V
I have 4 Gretsch basses and 3 of them have TV Jones
I'm not sure TV Jones makes a 5 string Thundertron pup?

I have 6 or 7 precision basses, but the other 8 or 9 basses I have are all very different from each other and some are unusual.

The two Fenders are my #1 and#2 depending on the gig. The 6 and the fretless 5 come out as needed. The Ubass is my travel axe, as it shows under a plane chair. The strat is for song writing. I don't need anything else in my collection.

I dig those Carvin 5 strings the most! I wanted one for years, and just never pulled the trigger. I see you have both an XB-75 and an LB-75. How do you think they compare to one another?

Mine isn't really compared to some. I play mostly p-basses so have a bunch of those in 4 and 5 string versions. I bought a Gibson Thunderbird and a Guild b301 because I wanted to add them to the collection and for the different tonal characteristics, a Warwick fretless which is pretty nice but I'm still looking and a NS EUB for obvious reasons. I really want an upright bass but don't have the funds for something like that.

Ahhhhhh...... yep!

The neck is just so good i can't find anything that makes me want to play it as much..... except for the fretless which has an even nicer neck to play but i'm not good enough on it to gig it yet... and the P sounds so good with the Bill Lawrence pickup.

The 8-string now gets used on about 10 songs in my new three-piece band which is cool and I love the sound I get with it going through both bass amp and guitar amp.

The little Jag short scale gets neglected a lot ever since I got the Franken P but there's no point selling it (wouldn't get much for it) but it's neck and fretwork are better than the three or so other examples I've played. I'm still blown away by how good it is for the price every time I pick it up.

The travel bass is my go-to bass...... when i'm travelling.

No, if that were the case then mine would not be very diverse..... I like black basses. I even wish i'd gotten the Jag in black these days. Anyone want to swap Jag short-scale bodies????

So far considering that most respondents are listing solid body basses it would appear that:

A. There is very little diversity among the majority of respondents

Or

B. Many respondents have no clue what diversity actually means

Or

C. You are not understanding the thread title. Does it say, "respond only if you have a highly diverse collection?" The people posting are saying, "this is the amount of diversity in my bass collection." You're just making the judgement that the level of diversity they are showing is not up to your standards.

LB was my first fiver and my wife bought it for me so it has a special place. Still my fav bass. The XB does have a tighter b-string and a wider pallet of tones thanks to the mm pup and three band preamp.

I have a hollowbody Fretless Mensinger "Joker"

A Maruszczyk "Jake" Jazz type bass...

A Crackercaster "P" type bass....

A Birdsong "Odyssey" Prototype Fretless bass...

If I could get my wishlist fulfilled, I'd be fairly diverse... That said, at the moment a Schecter Stealth, Ibaniez SRH500F fretless, and a new (well, used and needs some love) Ibanez AEB10 acoustic (which I'm about to go search for a replacement preamp for - it was cheap specifically because the electronics don't work, and while that's fine for what I want - something I don't have to plug in to noodle around for 5 minutes on - I'm now curious to see if I can get it working again.)
