How do I get rid of Victor?

Don't really understand the hate for Victor, he's a once in a lifetime musician and seems like a top human also.
I know a few non musicians that care about what he does through The Flecktones... they have won several grammy awards so are clearly well known and liked.
As far as endorsing goes he's just making the most of his opportunities to make a living! Most of us would endorse carrots if we were getting paid enough.

But yeah just get an adblock, I also didn't realise that talk bass had adds... it also makes learning songs via youtube easier when you don't have to watch any adverts.

Hate? How'd you read that in? You know this is in the humor section...

yeah sorry i don't mean here per say but there is a feeling of negativity towards him regarding some of his endorsements - like the power cable :)

Oh yes that cable... well endorsements are endorsements, I mean here in the UK we have sports stars endorsing crisps (that's chips in American), hardly the ideal health food...

Well I hope Victor appreciates I don't begrudge him his success at all either, I just feel personally oppressed by his display of happiness through online advertising :) Tell him to be mean and moody in his next ad shoot, then I'll feel better...

Sorry - mean and moody isn't who Victor is. He is precisely what you see in all his ads.

As a musician and as a person, you've got to be who you are.

I can't stand how there has to be a tv everywhere. Even waiting in line to get your drivers license there are stupid tv screens.

Biiiiiig +1

And whose ultra-lame idea was it to put television on gas station pumps? It is so friggin' annoying. I refuse to look at the TV screen, and once I insert the nozzle into my fuel receptacle and start the fueling process, I get back into my car, close the door and window, and crank the stereo (usually with a CD of YES music) so I don't have to listen to the mindless tripe spewing out of the gas pump. The only thing I want spewing out of the gas pump is gas. :D

LOL! :roflmao:

And "chips" in the UK are what we in the US call "french fries."

Sheesh........you'd think since we humans are all on the same tiny little planet that we could get a brief meeting together and figure out what to call what! :D :D :D

Bangers and mash in the UK? That's sausage links and potatoes in the US.

A flat in the UK? That's an apartment in the US.

A lift in the UK? That's an elevator in the US.

In the UK, you don't "call" someone on the phone like we do in the US, you "ring" them.

Those are the absolute worst. I always expect them to shut off when I swipe my card and pay but they never do. Gas stations should have three prices: cash, credit and the turn off the damn tv price per gallon.

I'm not seeing the ads, but I don't think Vic Wooten is rich or anything. Might be a perfect case of "if he's famous he must be rich."

Vic Wooten is essentially a monk who has dedicated his life to writing and playing music that, as wonderful as it is, is appealing to mere dozens of people.

Mere dozens of people? You mean "some bass players"? I've never met a non bass player who was in any way interested in anything he's doing. Also I am not interested in what he's doing so there it goes anyways.

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones have more than just bassists as fans, I hope you both realize that. Of course they're not DMB popular or anything but they do alright with a select group of music lovers, people who actually enjoy slightly challenging music.

But they are not rich. Victor is primarily a somewhat selfless music educator. He's not in it for the money.

I just cannot get the hang of communicating humor. It's me, I know. It isn't easy being me.

My comment was narrowly about the money; someone ahead of me implied Vic was wealthy from music and endorsement income.

Flecktones are great and do have a following, but even they haven't sold enough or toured enough to make anyone rich.
