How do you carry your small amp heads?

I have some sort of notebook bag that came with another micro head that I bought a while back. It works perfectly for my Darkglass head. As seen in the photos, I cut some pieces of foam to surround the head. A Pelican case or knockoff would be better, but this configuration is lighter, easy to carry and pretty good protection.

I had Studio Slips make me a pouch that fits my Tecamp Puma 500. Same material and construction they use for their covers and cases, but just a simple envelope with a velcro flap closure. I pack it along with cables and pedals in a good quality duffel bag, and it works great. I can take a picture if you like, but I'm at work right now .

For a couple of G-K heads: the 200 goes to rehearsals in my backpack, in a plastic bag, 'padded' by cables and such. The 500 (the primary performing amp) rides is a RubberMaid tote with mic cables, mics, strings, batteries and power strips. Never had any issues, thankfully.

I put my GK MB200 in some kind of little bag I bought at Target. It goes into a padded Swissgear backpack, along with a padded lunchbox (also from Target) which holds a homemade micro pedal board with two pedals and cords. (See picture.)
For my Rumble 500 head, a laptop bag ($8 at Goodwill).

I have a Darkglass Microtubes 900, which has proven to be a curious item to carry to gigs. They don't offer a rackmount kit, and they have discontinued the bag for it. It's just big enough that it isn't easy to throw in most gig bags, and while it is certainly sturdy, I'm still hesitant to just toss it in a bag of cables.

I've tried a couple of different options over the two years I've had it; i've put it in a Gator mixer bag (which is almost the perfect size for it). I've also rack mounted it to a 2U clamping rack shelf, which works great, and allows me to put it in a rack with a power conditioner so that I can just plug in speakon cable and a power cable, hit a power switch, and i'm good to go.

HOWEVER, for smaller gigs, where i'm just using a 2x12, it seems kind of ridiculous to haul the 6U rack unit i'm using to house a "small amp head".

What is everyone else doing with their small amp heads?

I carry my Carvin in a small back pack, with cables, spare tuner, etc. I usually use a Tc combo anymore, but carried the Carvin a couple years like that. It stays with me, and easy to pack anywhere.

I have my small head rack mounted with my IEM transmitter. Now that I use a Bass Fly Rig instead of that head, I may get two small bags--one for the head and another for my IEM rig.

But I don’t put anything else in the bag, it’s just to ensure nothing gets bent or knocked off. I put the whole thing into a Gruv Gear Stadium bag, that thing allows you to have layers for different stuff. Put this at the bottom, and then seal the compartment off.

My Puma 500 is velcro'd to my fearless 112H cabinet. Looks funny when the cab is upright, but it never comes off.

I just kick mine down the sidewalk from the car to the venue.

i do exactly the same: i like to watch my roadies scramble for it!

I have a GigSkinz medium mixer bag that I use for my TH500. It's the old style silver exterior type - bought it back when I was schlepping my Eden heads.
Also have a Meinl Percussion Bongo Bag that I use to cart my Ampeg PF20T.

The case is from an portable x-ray fluorescence analyzer. It is air and water tight and can be purged as well. It hold the Microtubes 900 well. I also put all my cables and other stuff in it. I think the case would cost more than the amp. It's from an older unit no longer in use at the lab.

I’ve been using that case for probably a decade.

Also have two of the all silver ones which I have used for all kinds of stuff - including merch storage/ display.

I’ve never had a problem. Including riding them in the trailer on many road gigs.

not trying to say your experience is wrong - just saying I’ve had a really good experience
especially at that price.

For my Tech21 VT500, I purchased their specific case, then toss into a gig backpack.

Works perfectly after I removed the large strap.
