What part of FACE IT, BRO, YOU ARE UNABLE TO MOVE, do you not understand? Quit dreaming, and wake up to your reality.
You cant save money and you cant risk moving without having a job in place that offers health insurance (at most jobs your benefits dont kick in until 60-90 days).

Im sorry to tell you this, man, but you CANT MOVE. Not even finding a job in another city is going to help you, because you dont have the means to move you and your stuff to a new area. You dont have money for a deposit on an apartment. Maybe you can find some people to move in with to avoid that, but if you cant save money right now, no way will you have enough to float on once you get to a new area. How are you going to afford your medication once you get a new job and have no insurance?

Again, like I said before, youre better of trying to bring some art & culture into the area you are in now.

Youre almost 40, eh? Yup, sorry to bear the bad news here, but your move, it aint going to happen.

Youre not willing to accept others advice, and not motivated enough to make things happen for yourself. I understand why, at 40, you'd be apprehensive to live in your car, but its a sacrifice some are willing to make to live out their dreams or to make things happen for themselves.

At 40, living on your parents dime (partially), and unable to save... face it, youre stuck.

The opposite of the "sleep in your car" advice: Consider moving somewhere with good public transportation and selling your car. Riding the bus/subway is a great way to save money! :)

Also not to be a downer, but what is your plan when your parents eventually get sick or pass away and can't support you financially any more? You need to pull yourself together while they are still able to help you, so that when they're gone you'll have enough savings and income to take care of yourself.

I also question the age ( mid 30's or later )?? They write like my 17 year old nephews talk. The post smacks of trolling.

There was solid advice given. I'll give some of my own just for the sake of staying on topic.

Apply for jobs in the target area you wish to live in. Figure the miles to get there, form a firm dollar amount that would get you from point a to point b. Call the local apartments in said area and get an idea of the cost to move in. Contact the electric and gas, if needed, companies and find out what the cost is to transfer or activate an account.

Turn off the cable or dish, stop eating out and save your money until you reach that target amount. When you get a good lead on a job call the local apartments in said area and get an idea of when you can move in.

It's been the same since the country was formed. If you want it bad enough, you'll find a way to get there.

You are a downer, but I understad what you are saying. I don't know what I would ever do if they were gone. It's not like I am not trying. I had several good jobs when the economy was good, but those jobs... hell, those companies don't even exist here any longer. I just hate whats happened here to our economy. I dont think people were put on this Earth to enter this sort of rat race...

They werent. This rat race is a relatively new design, created by big business. Sometimes I loathe the way this country does things and wish we could return to a better era. But thats wishful thinking. We've got to make do with the times. This is what we're given, so make the most of it.

Life owes you nothing.

It'll be hard work, but you need to work hard to get where you want to go.
