How do you get banned from TalkBass?

No, I'm not trying to get banned .

I guess I just have good manners, thanks mom, but I can't imagine going nuts enough about anything on this wonderful site to get banned from it.

Not trying to open a can of worms, and not expecting specifics about anyone, more of just thinking aloud. I just keep seeing banned under some names and find myself saying, really?

I do realize though, "it takes all kinds".

I make it a rule to never discuss politics or religion, but then again I don't get out much. (understatement)

I can speak from experience. Name calling will get it done. I called someone an inappropriate name. I got banned.

Some time later I contacted the powers that be and they graciously allowed me to come back.

Some people simply can't help themselves when presented with an opportunity to argue anonymously in an online forum and they need to escalate every post to a higher level of confrontation. It always seems to start out benignly enough, but you can just tell when someone gets a burr under his saddle and starts automatically "fighting back" against those he perceives to be out to get him.

Also, some people refuse to allow anyone to persist in disagreeing with their opinion on something.
