Usta be a systems programmer for a bank in NYC. Retired from that. (Thank God!) I get some gigs now (occasionally) as a conga and djembe player/teacher, and have an ongoing gig as a drum circle facilitator. Am also finishing a book, also a screenplay. Have no idea if they'll sell yet...
I play bass guitar because I love it; had a few (unpaid) gigs in a bar band, but mostly I just jam with friends or play for the local Unitarian church.
I'm addicted to good hand drums (11), and also to basses, (have only 3 of those, so far!). I just totally enjoy the instruments, the sounds...!
Also have driven school buses, cabs, trucks, worked in a factory, worked as a (ugh!) crapped-on office temp, installed carpeting, and waxed floors and cleaned toilets as a janitor in a hospital for a year or so. (Which was a lot better than being an office or a factory temp!) Also worked in an amusement park as a ride operator and also temped in an ice cream plant. (Both of which jobs sucked, actually...)
In the midst of all this I took a year or two off (in over-all time) to travel slowly across the USA and then thru eastern Canada with my ol' lady in a sleep-in Volks van, and also traveled up and down the east coast (NJ to FL) on several 5K trips on various motorcycles.
Right now I consider my work to be just to enjoy life, help some others a bit when and where I can, and to continue developing my literary and musical skills; the main things I consider that make life worth living... (Besides having a great ol' lady at my side, that is! d];>]} )

(Sounds like a frickin' resume, eh?)
