I always mic my guitar cab's when playing live (I play guitar also), but use my amps XLR DI outputs or a direct box when playing bass. I'm curious what the consensus is on this.

That's a good idea. So are you blending both signals at the same time, or just have one or the other ready to go in the event of a problem?
I think I'll give it a try with an SM57 and if I really like it, invest in a better mic for bass frequencies.
Yes. If I'm running an LMII, I will usually DI it, because it usually means I'm not running my home rig and having to plug into inferior speakers compared to my B-15 cabs. No sense micing crappy speakers. And it's post-EQ, although you can switch a jumper to make it pre.I've always used the post EQ on my old RBI preamp and the soundguys like it. Now I have a Markbass LMII and am hoping it will work that way too. Haven't had a gig with it yet and it looks like it's going to be a while before I do. Anyone have good results with LMII DIs?
both signals at the same time..DI gives a nice attack and the mic on the amp adds the fat
the sound company is using an audix i-5 on a 4x10 cab
