How does your band set-up look at a gig?

Bass - upstage center
guitar rig - upstage right of bass
keys - stage right facing on stage
drums - stage left facing on stage
Lead Vocals - down stage center

I am in a 3 piece and a 4 piece. So we set up like this....

In the first pic, the set up looks a mess, very junky looking.However some that is due to the venue I am sure.

Do you have a pic at a better venue. One with a decent stage and lighting?

Two of my bands are guitar/bass/drums/lead vocalist. For some reason I'm usually on stage right, but it doesn't really matter to me.

My R&B band has 11 members. I'm always just to the left of the drummer, behind the horns. You can barely see me here:

We don't usually have a set spot, I'm in an 80s style metal band, so we move around alot. But in generally to the right of the drums. Out leas guitarist is usually to the left and our singer/ rhythm is usually in the middle.

Rhythm guitar + lead vocals and lead guitar+vocals in front, drums + vocals and bass behind, stage left to right and front to back. If / when I sing I just use the lead guitarists' mic. Those instances are few and far between, though.

Here's the usual set up for my upscale band.

The vocalist and guitarist are up front, and the bassist, drummer, and keyboard player are in back row.

Here's my dirty bar band.

We are a 5 piece. Lefty lead guitar stage left. Righty lead guitar stage right. Singer center stage. I like hanging with the drummer in the back line on the high hat side. The lefty guitar player likes to spin around and give the drummer some visual queues on starts and endings which I can see by being just off the high hat.

I don't know how well you can see the stage plot but it's drums center on riser with lead guitar stage left, bass rig beside that, rythm guitar stage right, and my brother and I are a duo and we split center stage with our mics. For us, we always set up with me on stage left, and guitarist stage right. How far apart we are, and where are amps are in relation to the drums and crowd just depends on how big of a stage you have to work with.
