"How good are you?" "I'm okay..."

That's all well and good about kicking ass on bass, hot girlfriends and gigs, but what kind of rig do you use???

I have several upgraded and tweaked Fenders, so upgraded and tweaked that they actually sound and play nicely! Also have a PF 800 with 4X10 and 1X15 cabs (also gutted and replaced with boutique upgrades too sophisticated to mention here) .

I am an ok bass player. I do my homework and make sure not to waste anyone else's time by not knowing my parts. I show up on time and prepared. I have always been that way. I can't stand having to wait on big headed people that think they are superstars. They show up 30 minutes late and think nothing of it. time is a valuable thing and you don't get it back.
Glad you reminded us of that...on the HUMOR page.

Depends on who's asking, really. If it's some condescending guitard at a jam who throws out some mindless, dissonant garbage and expects you to miraculously rescue it via feats of bass heroics, the answer would be: "not good enough to save your sorry...", but if it's Miss July fawning over you between sets the answer might be more like: "let's go back to my place and you can see for yourself." Now, since the likelihood of the second scenario actually happening is miniscule, remember, this is the HUMOR page, and, besides, a guy can still dream, can't he?

Most psychologists would label that scenario as "fantasy!".

The difference between hopelessness and misery is that no matter miserable you are you haven't lost that last shred of hope. I know that the chance of Miss July fawning over me between sets is a fantasy, but it's not impossible, so don't extinguish my hope.
To illustrate this point, just answer the following question: Have you ever bought a lottery ticket? It's not impossible to win, but you don't really think you're going to end up a millionaire that way, do you?

All you have to do is change your definition of "Miss July" and life becomes way more tolerable.
Most people would imagine Miss July to be a centerfold model in a girlie magazine during a summer month. All that would be true, and the definition would stand until the title of the magazine was revealed. Play*** is one thing, but being fawned over by Miss July from "Botched Plastic Surgery monthly" wouldn't be so appealing.
