He says several times throughout his video series "well, not knowing things like that is OK, because we're all new to this stuff at some point" and answers questions like "should I bring my own mikes to the studio" gracefully.

He ridicules people who want him to cut them a 12 song album in return for promotion on their facebook page.

If you see someone playing an instrument with a quilted maple top, it's usually related to poor mothering. I no longer have any quilted tops but I've got several spalted tops, so I apparently have moved on to a less severe neurosis.

Quality songs (like hi said) would be crappy with bad sound such as bad or not so good ones with great sound IMO.
I would agree that no one would care what kind of gear do you have,but to me and people who i play with - it is counts.
If you like how your gears and basses sound like,you would play all your stuffs with pleasure and satisfaction,even with cheap ones......until you heard something better.:D Then this inevitable thing GAS would come...Scary :roflmao:.

Extremely happy w this: as posted elsewhere but I am lovin it! Squier VM Jazz V, MB CMD 102p, MB 151 Blackline. MB stuff a little pricey, Squier is lots of tone on the cheap. Lakeland Skyline 5501 is getting lonely and may have to find a new home.

Yeah, the guys right!....Hell, half the audience doesn't know the difference between a bass and a guitar!

But again, these indulgences are our own, and any negativity from other 'musicians' is just jealousy.

I have a WTX-500 with a Schroeder Mini12+L (4Ohm), this miniature rig can fill anything I can throw at it as far a local venues go down.....I have spent money, but not just cause it sounds amazing but because it's a 1 Trip Rig! And also the look of astonishment on the faces of the 1% when the tiniest little bass amp blows out their 1x15 combos or half stacks.....

I have a pair of Laney 2x12s for the bigger venues, but they barley get used. If the gig is close and it's not a pain in the ass to shift em I'll use them just for ***** and giggles and having my amp eye level HA!

As for tone, the Eden doesn't just sound great but it's easy to get it sounding great, set the compressor, Enhance half way and that's it, doesn't need touching again for the night, it's all onboard from there.

Now,


the biggest underlying talent we have is the art of making expensive equipment sound bad, that's the issue!


I heard a guitarist make a VOX AC15 sounds like a Line6 Spyder, just by over EQing! Sounded awful!

EDIT. I will Never buy anything Behringer and/or a cheaper brand.......It just sounds awful.

Glenn is hilarious. He mentioned this thread in his latest video, "Tales From the Shortbus". LoL, I love it. We all think we're the cream of the musical crop, but most people couldn't care less about bass. I've played shows with $10,000 worth of gear and I've played shows with $500 worth of gear. There's no difference to the audience. Some of us take ourselves a little too seriously. There's a lot of butthurt on any forum, and this one's no different. ;)
