How important is tone to you?

To me it's extremely important. I've spent a lot of time (and money) trying to figure out how to get a sound that I really like.

It's interesting to me that people with similar interest in music feel so differently about tone. Some people who are execllent musicians don't care much about tone at all; it's all about the notes. Others, like me, are place a very high value on a good sound.

I've notice the same phenomenon with people and their collections of recorded music. I've known people who love music and have huge collections of CDS and records, but they have cheap stereo systems, and they don't care that it sounds like crap. For me, I've always tried to get the best sound I could afford out of my listening setup.

Different strokes ...

Is this question about BASS tone or a band's overall tone?

Anyway, Paul McCartney had some of the worst tone I've ever hear on certain Beatles songs. That didn't take anything away from the music, however.
