How long do you keep up holiday decorations?

How long do you keep your decorations up?
Me? Probably to the 2nd week of January. I start taking stuff down New Years. Mine are more seasonal opposed to “Christmas” I guess after I drag this stuff out and put it up, I want to keep them up for a while! We start putting Mardi gras decorations after that!

my father used to take everything down the first weekend after christmas.

my husband and i take ours down within a day or 2 of new years.

my ex husband once had a classic 60s aluminum tree he left up for about 8 years until his GF finally took it down.

I used to keep the lights on outside until I was the last one on my block, about mid-January, and take down the tree right before Valentine's day. I lit my outside lights for the last time this season last night, and my wife already undecorated the indoor tree yesterday.

My wife works at the local high school and likes to have it all down before she returns to work on 1/2. As for me I'm not committed to them once Christmas is over so fine with me. This year has been unseasonably warm and Friday 12/30 was 40 degrees F so we took advantage of that weather and got the outside stuff done. Inside stuff packed away on 12/31 before I had a night gig.

One of mrs. slo's favorite sayings in "I'm moving on." During our first year together I came home from work on Dec 26th and our Christmas tree and all our decorations were gone. I was shocked and asked "What happened?" Mrs. slo didn't understand the question. She said "What do you mean what happened?" I told her I was used to leaving the decorations up until after New Years. She said "Christmas is over, we're moving on."
This year we took down the tree on 12/29. The oustide lights are still up but I haven't been turning them on since I received our power bill. They will come down today.

Ours comes down when the old timer gets bored of sleeping under it, or batting ornaments around.. been a tradition for 15 years with him..
