How long do your strings last?

I change strings once a year. I gig no more than 5 times/year, so they last.

EB Cobalt rounds. I play at least an hour a day and they last up to a year for me. Its insane. I like my sound as bright as I can get it and these work well for that.
I have 2 main basses: my Ruby Ric 4003 and my Satin Autumglo Ric 4003.
- I have D’Addario XL Nickel Rounds on my Ruby 4003 and D’Addario Chromes on my SA 4003.
- I change the rounds quarterly. And I don't think I will change the Chromes for the foreseeable future.
- I play fingerstyle exclusively.

I sweat profusely everywhere on my body except the palms of my hands (until it’s over 95 deg. F or so outside) so strings last me a while. It helps that I generally favor broken-in nickel/nickel-plated rounds, or flatwounds these days, but I often keep pretty fresh steel rounds on one active bass. I’ll wash my hands before playing and wipe down strings after a gig. But that said I’ve channeled most of my GAS into exploring the tonality of different strings and bridges, so I’m swapping strings between basses every few weeks to months.
At this point I have a few sets of TI Jazz Flats, some original Sadowsky Black Label Flats, and D’Addario Chromes with plenty of life left that are at least 15 years old (not like they’ve been on a bass that whole time though).

The metric for string life should be hours, not days.
Two Months for person A could be the equivalent of 20 hours for person B, which in their mind translates to 1 week.

Usually last me 2-4 weeks to lose that nice new zing, change them when I get around to it or if I have a gig, whichever comes first. Been digging on SIT SS foundations lately, so far they’re the best bang for the buck for me.
45-105? Foundations? Described as lower tension string...how would you compare it to other strings tension wise/is it really floppy?

I agree. I keep track, but I don't think most guys track their hours. It is difficult enough, just getting the original answer to my question. Most guys just see the title and want to write about their experience
Waiting for these in the mail today. Which bass would you guys put which string?
I have a Stingray Special 4HH & a Fender American Pro II. P bass.... All I play is hardcore with a pick. What would you do?
I am trying them today on one of my basses. I tried the roto flats recently, but sounded not so great compared to others.
A lot of people say they tear up their fingers at first, but they've never bugged me. I probably play bass guitar about twelve hours a week, they break in after a few days and then are remarkably solid for a good long time. In my experience.

I wouldn’t say they’re floppy, they’re imo in between too taught and floppy, just flexible enough without too much give
I like strings once they mellow out a bit so they last a long time for me. I also do not have sweaty hands so I think that helps reduce string corrosion.
