Six, Orange, Mesa Boogie, GK, Ampeg, Ashdown, and SWR, just 'cause I like to have a choice depending on the venue, inside or outside, etc. We all need at least one vice, and mine is bass gear.

I have four at present. Ampeg SVT & Extended Low 4x10 Ampeg cab for bass, VOX AC30 2x12 Cel. Blues combo for vintage sound, Bugera 333XL with 4x12 cab for bigger venues and a Ultrasound 30 for acoustic. I'm short a guitar recording amp at present and shopping, but seriously looking at a hot rodded VOX Night Train. My stable changes almost monthly. I have almost pulled the trigger on a reissue of the B-15 portaflex several times recently; $2,000 guitars are easy decisions, but for some reason $2,000 amps can be tough, especially when I can recall paying $400 for a new B-18 Portaflex.

Let's see - that's about 8 weeks pay back then and about 3 days pay now. The next good one that comes up on ebay is mine.

Do you have spare amps?
Or maybe you like to have few different sounds ?
Or you just have one, trusty rig?
Or maybe a gig rig a practice rig?

I love different sounds! The main way I achieve this is with different speaker cabinets:

Bergantino NV610: sealed, tweeterless... has the vintage Ampeg 810 vibe but better!
Two Bergantino HS210: ported and tweetered, gives a more modern hi-fi tone

But I also use rack rigs because of the modularity. I currently own five different preamps (see profile), and swap them in and out (or combine them) according to my mood.

I've got 2 amps:
- Ampeg SVT-CL with an 8 x 10 (main amp, a pain to carry around)
- Ampeg B2 1x15 combo (easier to carry, still sounds like an Ampeg)

I play out of two locations and don't want to carry amps back and forth. So in Brooklyn I have a Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 10T which is a very versatile little amp, I use it mainly with the upright for jazz but it can play rock with the BG too, up to a certain volume level.

Then up in the Hudson Valley, my main amp is the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0, paired with a different GB cab depending on the venue size. That's for BG. For the upright, I use a Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 combo with the 8 inch speaker, and the DI out of that into the front of the house. (Don't use FOH with bass guitar.) Last but not least, I have a Little Mark LM II that I bought used out of curiousity and bring along as a backup for the Shuttle 6.0.

So four amps in total.

Me, I have too many sitting around. My playing rig these days consists of a Markbass CMD 121H (2008 model) combo plus a Markbass Traveler 151P cab (2011 model). It all does a great job. I'll eventually get set up with a separate head and two 151Ps, I think.

Otherwise I still have:

Peavey Combo 300 (115 210w), early '90s model.
SWR Workingman's 12 combo (112, 100w), early '90s model.
