I've got more than I need at the moment because I love trying them out but I hate selling them! :rolleyes:

For much of my pro life, I had just my small GK "micro" combo and a pre + power rack for big gigs.

The small GK was used for practice, rehearsals and Jazz gigs. Even with a fair amount of louder stuff, I considered the GK to be my main workhorse.

Then I got a good beefy 1x12 cab and a micro-head (LMII). That combo proved to be compact and portable and sonically much more potent. So the GK is now pretty much retired to practice use. (With the occasional rehearsal and the very occasional gig.)

The micro head has enough guts to drive my 4 ohm 2x12 loud enough for any gig I do, so that's good for backup. Or, slung over my shoulder, it can save me a trip (which can be golden when time is really tight).

Then last summer I got an all-tube head (200 watts) and fell head over heels for that. So the pre + power rack doesn't see much action anymore. The tube head is pretty old, though, so it's very good to have the micro-head, which is a perfect backup: compact, light, potent and new.

I recently traded a bass for a second all-tube head, which while only 60 watts is also loud enough to keep up with the loudest drummer, most of the time.

So now I'm really swimming in amps, all of which except the tiny GK can really rock the house. I got by with just a small & large for a very long time but it's fun to have a bit more variety... and backup.

I have a Behringer BX3000T (please don't kill me!) that I use when playing at a drummer friend's house ... he smokes more cigs than anyone I ever met and the $199 was worth not getting my good amps all spooged up. It actually sounds pretty good. I leave my BX500 at my regular practice place along with an Acme Low B2 so I can go there straight from work. I have the old back-breaker (SVT-CL) for gigs with loud guitards. I just purchased (arriving Tuesday) an M9 Carbine so I can make a tone and volume statement anytime I want to! Since I play at a number of different locations (and different conditions), having multiple amps is a must for me.

not counting my 2 guitar amps...i had 3 amps but just sold my markbass lmii. now i just have a 69 svt and 64 b-15, though i'm getting a small power amp to use with a vt pedal as a pre, so technically that's 3 again. got 5 cabs, though...3 b-15 double baffle cabs, a 73 svt 810, and an 89 or so tube works 410t. that's a lot, right?

at one time i had about 7 amps, but i decided i just don't want that many amps and sold all but the ampegs. i've got the two king daddy tube amps and a little backup rig that simulates the other two, and that's plenty. i like having a few basses, but i like keeping my amp collection small.

That is EXACTLY what I have for gigs. If I can't do it with 600W and a pair of 12s, I don't need to do it. Those G-B 12T speakers are LOUD!

I also have a little Ibanez 35W combo, a Sunn Coliseum-300 head (weighs as much as the G-B head and speaker combo) and a single 12" cab. The Ibby and Sunn are leftovers from before I went lightweight....I consider the Sunn head to be a backup amp.

Darn - almost forgot my '67 blackface Bassman amp. Can't get rid of it...had it too long, and my daughter might need it for a guitar amp some day.

I have a G-K MB115 that I got two weeks ago because I wanted a bigger amp than my Line 6 Studio 110, which I haven't figured out what I want to do with. I'd sell it, but after reading TB for the last 2+ years, I've come to the conclusion that one needs to be more careful about what one sells than about what one buys. That amp is still as easy to carry and fit into my car as it ever was AND the GK doesn't have a synth setting, which I only tried a couple of times.

unfortunately, the music BUSINESS cares a great deal about how much money you have :D but not the music itself.

Rack over one or two 410s (all kinda big/heavy) is what I’ve been using so far w/no backup.

I recently picked up a ‘90s GK 410 that’s a bit smaller/lighter, and I’m on the lookout for a good deal on a head for it. That’ll be a small-room rig.

I haven’t played out too often (new project may turn into something, though), so I can’t yet rationalize too many rigs.

For low-volume practice in the living room (as opposed to my home rehearsal studio) or work, I use one of my small guitar combos.
