How many amps (heads) do you have?

My collection came over time, as I tried to "improve" my sound. It seems I go back and forth among the few I have, depending on whether I'm looking for tone, versatility, portability or outright volume. I always seem to end up back at the T Max and my SWR Workingman's cabs, and just wish the whole thing was a hundred pounds lighter.

I typically practice at home through the Fusion550 into a GK Neo 212 or, less frequently, the GK 800S through a GK Neo 210/115 stack. The Aguillar lives at my singers house in our rehearsal space, also played through a GK Neo 212. The MarkBass Vintage is my ready backup head. Kind of a shame to relegate such a nice amp to backup duties, but I love the GKs.

as noted, i will be looking at selling the other 2. i'll list those in the classifieds in the coming days.

I have two PJB M500 SIX-PAK combos, and a head shell for one of those should I feel inclined. I also recently acquired a GK 1001rb but have trade plans for it. GAS exists for many other great heads, but I may expand my PJB collection as consistency has some value.

@Ethix4, have you responded to this thread yet? :laugh:

At one point I had an Ashdown Mark King head and it broke down. It was in the shop for 6 or 8 weeks and I had to borrow heads for several gigs.

So now I’m afraid not to have a backup so I have two. Both are GK, there’s a Legacy 800 and an MB-Fusion.

Too many. I really enjoy tube amps, so I have acquired a few over the years. Hate to move them though, so I'm now using some class Ds for that.

I really love the flexibility of the Sumos, but the Mesa is my favorite (It was my first tube bass amp).

If you love the sound of tube amps but not the weight, Pure Tone Amps make incredibly lightweight tube amps
Mini Tone - 50W - 4.2 Kg / 9.2 lbs
Offset XL - 100 W - 7.1 kg / 15.6 lbs
Nautilus - 120 W - 7.6 kg / 16.8 lbs

I have the Mini Tone, it sounds great and it is quite versatile. Super easy to move around, and louder than I expected.

Listed my amps, but didn't really address the OP's post.

The only one I have that handles 2 Ohms is the Bugera, which is supposed to be an SVT clone (I've never side-by-sided it with an SVT). I like it, but it's a beast (just like an SVT), and I do worry about its longevity, but honestly it's been great.
