Neck-thru’s typically have the neck extension act as the central part of the body, front to back, all the way the the back strap button. The sections with the upper and lower bouts are then glued to the side of this structure and make up the rest of the body. Of course there is latitude in painted guitars to use dissimilar woods. Also now have seen a lot of designer wood veneers glued on the front face of built up guitars with transparent finishes

Well, I own two basses, but neither of them are in my possession at the moment. I have a Spector NS-2 that is presently on a brown truck heading to my house today. I also bought a used Modulus TBX5, however, it went right from the seller to Pat Wilkins's shop in CA to have the neck buffed/polished back to gloss so I probably won't have that one for a couple of weeks.

I've been bass-free since Tuesday and it hurts! I actually played (gasp!) guitar at my rehearsal Tuesday night. I have a nice guitar, but it just reinforced to me how much I enjoy playing bass and how little I enjoy playing guitar in comparison.

I was asking @kodiakblair about his Deans in the picture...Hence the 'Wings'...;) or at least I thought they were Dean headstocks....

So one has to be a stud to have more than one bass? Like it's a threesome or something? That's kinds weird. Maybe I'm a stud, but that's has had no impact on my bass numbers. What a strange criteria. . .
