Currently own two basses. Dingwall and a Sub Series. Both 5 string. Lately really been wanting to get a jass bass in Olympic white. The GAS is real
I have what I need for any situation I've ever played in.
- 4 string US Jazz bass, added a series/ parallel switch- Classic Rock, Blues
- 5 string Tobias Basic 5- Churchs and supporting singers that I think might transpose a lot.
- Ibanez AG-140, re did the pots to better match the pickups and converted to frettless. - as a backup for jazz/ swing bands especially in tight places.
- Gold Tone M-25 - for the couch, sometimes acoustic jams and originally as a backup if the upright poops the bed.
- Plywood upright - Jazz, swing, and the rare bluegrass requests.

I have to amend my number. I just ordered a Sire Marcus Miller P7 so once it arrives my number is now 2. Where I'm going to put it is another matter. Too many guitars and not enough room lol

Since Rondo isn't doing full scale SXes any more, I can't continue my cheap but good collection. Still want an Ursa 2 MN 3TS HUM, and an Ursa 4 MN 3TS. A Stingray would be nice too...

I hate that I can't edit my posts the day after when I think about something I want to add. But I digress...
So I am too lazy to dig back into the old posts to look, so here is my count as I glance over at the wall hung instruments.
Basses:
SX: All SXes strung with D'Addario rounds except the fretless that got flats.
Ursa 3, MN FL 3TS, this is the custom job where I neck swapped a standard Ursa 1 / 3 MN neck for a fretless. Not as easy as it sounds... Oh, and antique pearl white pickguard.
Ursa 3 RN 3TS.
Ursa 1, my #1 favorite player. This is also my cheapest bass. I bought this as a leave at my desk at work to noodle around on my lunch break bass, it RAPIDLY became my #1. LOVE the way it plays... Tort pickguard. I should mention, all of the SXes will eventually get the antique pearl white pickguards...
Ursa 2 5 string MN 3TS. Stock.
Squer:
Affinity Jazz. BUrgundy Mist. Tort Pickguard. CV60s high mass bridge with brass saddles. Vintage Modified Duncan Designed pickups, CTS pots, caps, and jack. D'addario rounds.
Ibanez:
SR480. Dead stock.
So for basses that is six...
Guitars:
Yamaha: P335 Acoustic. No case, or bag. This is my brother in laws that he doesn't want back. I.E. it's effectively mine, but he gets to play it when he comes by... No mods unless you call a small dent in the wood on the font "light relicing".
Fender: FA-135CE Acoustic Electric Sunburst. This is sort of mine. I bought it for my wife to learn guitar on as it is smaller than the Yamaha, she steered quickly toward piano. I love playing this little thing though. No mods.
SX: Hawk MN CAR Custom. OE Bag. This was a B stock spur of the moment kind of thing that got me into playing guitar as well as bass. It has an antique pearl white pickguard, otherwise as it left SX...
Firefly: FF338 (Gibson ES 335 style semi hollow body). Iced Tea (burst). I've been wanting a guitar to get a more "bluesy" sound out of than the strat does, and I am too cheap to buy a real Gibson ES-335. I know microphonic pickups. I've seen and heard PAF Gibson humbuckers that are worse than these so no shame here. Waiting on delivery, this is going to be my Christmas present from my wife. We stink at surprises. So we just agree on what we are going to get, do it through the year. I may have her tie a bow on the neck for Christmas morning photos or something....
So that's 4 guitars.
I still have 10 more angle / guitar shop style hangers, and 4 string swings. Just not much wall left in the music room...
