How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

I own 3 LEFTY basses I have to unfortunately sell.

Check the classifieds in the next few days...Music has always been a part of my life and I am saddened at the place COVID layoffs has left me:

1978 Fender P: all original Sunburst/Maple
2005 Fender FSR MIM J: Natural/Rosewood. Completely modded/upgraded since it was in terrible shape.
2005? MM Stingray 5: Honeyburst/Maple. MM black PU and Tort guard

I need to get pics together during the holidays. I'm in Los Angeles.

I have 2 which is enough for me because I also have guitars. But I am playing bass now for the church the last 15 years. I have my baby a 1990 MIJ Ibanez SR800, and last month my wife and I was looking at a Donner’s new Jazz bass I didn’t know anything about their basses. I told my wife you know for the money I wouldn’t mind just trying one out . Well next thing I know one showed up at the door. White with a tortoise pickquard pretty. Actually it’s a well built bass pickups sound real good I was surprised. As good as any Squire I ever played. Any way I have 2 my Ibanez is Jewel blue I guess the call it active Low-Z pickups and the Donner has Ceramic passive J pickups. I am using my phone I don’t have a picture of my Ibanez on my phone and I am at my sisters house hope you all had a good Thanksgiving

I wish there was an unlike button for posts like this. I am sorry to hear about your need to sell the basses. The good news is that the world of basses is wonderfully large and varied, so when you are ready you can dive back in. Best of luck moving forward!

I play the Peavey and the Ibby in my bands, so they are also the one I practice on the most. But I suspect the Precision is the one I am secretly in love with. The Jazz I am considering selling…

I'm down to three after selling one. I just played all three today. Every time I picked up one, I thought "Oh yeah. That's why I love this bass."

I haven't always been able to say that about my collection.

Right now, I've got:

Fender Aerodyne
Squier Classic Vibe '60s P Bass
Schecter Stiletto Studio 4

So nothing terribly fancy. They range in price from $430 to $900 new. I'll be adding a Sterling Ray34 to the collection in a few weeks. Another mid-tier bass. For me, that seems to be the sweet spot.

I just played a Classic Vibe ‘60s P at GC the other day and was really impressed by it. It was pretty hard to walk out without it.

It's actually my favorite of the three at the moment.

I have this one. It's very nice to look at as well. I believe it was even cheaper when I bought it.
