Basses, that is...
There's also a few guitars and other stringed instruments around the house. The process of acquisition started more than 30 years ago, and it is still ongoing. I keep pretty much everything I buy; I've only sold off three things. Everybody in my total collection gets a turn to play. No one is ignored, therefore none of them complain.

But if you'd asked me a year ago, it'd have been about 10 guitars and 6-7 basses.
5 basses are nothing: you need some 4 string, some 5... some fretless... flatwounds and roundwounds... humbuckers, jazz-type... in different combinations. Tell her than having 5 basses is like a painter who is not allowed to buy a red paint... yes, he can paint but he can't truly express himself...
and if it works let me know so I can use that too!
1 bass guitar is the magic number for me. I currently own and Steinberger XQ-25A and that will be sold once my Status Streamline arrives in a couple of weeks.
